Assertion began in Vancouver British Columbia Canada circa 1995 and is often the duo of Scott Rabo on drums and vocals and Chad MacQuarrie on guitar and vocals yet has been joined by Lee Hutzaluk, Coat Cooke, bassists Bryan McCallum, Masa Anzai, Sean Cronin, Tommy Babin and most recently, Russell Sholberg.
Also in current line is multi instrumentalist and vocalist Janine Island.
